The Story Behind the Site

About Me

I spent years accumulating the kind of religious credentials the church world celebrates — ministry titles, theological training, leadership positions, doctrinal certainty. From the outside, it looked like gain. From the inside, it felt increasingly hollow.

Then I sat down with Philippians 3. Paul — a man with every religious credential imaginable — called all of it skubalon: dung. Refuse. Garbage. Not because those things were inherently evil, but because he had found something so infinitely better that they could no longer compete.

That passage hit like a grenade. As a Marine, I know what it means to carry weight that slows you down in the field. Religion had become that weight.

This site is the honest record of that process — the unlearning, the re-reading, the discomfort, and ultimately the liberation of stripping away institutional religion to simply know Jesus Christ.

I’m not anti-church, anti-theology, or anti-anything. I’m pro-Christ. There’s a difference — and that difference is exactly what this site explores.

I am also a disabled United States Marine Corps veteran. That service shaped how I think about truth, sacrifice, loyalty, and cutting through the noise. I bring all of that to the table.
